Utrecht/De Meern, The Netherlands. Castor Networks, the Utrecht-based Satellite Service provider and teleport operator, has appointed Filip Vanheer as Business Development Director Fleet and Offshore. “Filip’s long term experience with global MNC’s and large corporations in the maritime industry will strongly support our ambitions in the field of merchant marine and offshore vessels,” says Edwin Cras, Managing Director. “It underlines our commitment to become a relevant player in the maritime market, and builds further on our acquisition earlier this year of Watum Solutions and the win of the Wagenborg fleet. In the maritime field, we obviously maintain our solutions for the leisure market, super and mega yachts.” Filip will be present at the Castor booth at the Norhipping exhibition in Oslo end of May.
“Castor Networks holds all the aces to offer a premium customer experience,” says Vanheer, “First as owner and operator of the teleport facilities and the platform. Secondly as seasoned provider of VSAT, Iridium and FBB services, Thirdly with the value added service suite of a specialized and experienced IT solutions provider of the former Watum Solutions, and finally an agile and ambitious management with short decision lines and an experienced and customer focused field force. Castor combines the customer intimacy of a small organization with the capabilities that are normally associated with much larger companies. I’m proud to be chosen to further build on their continuous success story by joining their sales team.”
